Some old recipes from my late mother-in-law’s own home cooked recipes:
Home-Made Coconut Bars
Ingredients:
6 slices day-old bread
1 1/3 cup chopped nuts (peanut or cashew)
1/2 cup grated coconut
1 can condensed milk
Procedure:
1. Trim crust from bread.
2. Cut bread lengthwise into quarters.
3. Mix nuts and coconut.
4. Dip bread stick into milk then roll in coconut mixture.
5. Place on greased sheet.
6. Bake in pre-heated 375 degree F for 10-20 minutes or until slightly browned.
7. Remove immediately from sheet and cool on wire racks.
8. Makes 24 pieces.
Kids will certainly love this when you serve this during snack time. At least as far as my experience goes.
